Product Overview

The internal thread free float steam trap has a simple structure. The only moving component in the valve cavity——a stainless steel hollow float, is manufactured by high-precision grinding technology. The entire spherical surface can be used as a sealing surface, with no concentrated wear during operation and a long service life; there are no wearing parts in the valve cavity, ensuring high reliability. The ground stainless steel float has high sphericity precision and good sealing performance, with no fresh steam leakage during operation. The float in the valve cavity serves both as a floater and a sealing component. It can freely adjust the opening degree of the valve orifice according to the change of water level. The valve can continuously discharge condensate with a subcooling degree of ≈0℃ and high working quality.

Working Principle

Working Principle of Free Float Steam Trap: The free float steam trap has a simple structure, with only one precision-ground stainless steel hollow float inside, which acts as both a floater and an opening-closing component. There are no wearing parts, resulting in a long service life. When the device is just started, air and low-temperature condensate appear in the pipeline, and the manual air vent valve can quickly discharge non-condensable gases. The steam trap then starts to work. Low-temperature condensate flows into the steam trap, and at this time, the float in the valve cavity rises and falls with the level of the condensate, automatically adjusting the opening degree of the valve orifice, enabling continuous (not intermittent) discharge of condensate. Since the valve seat orifice of the free float steam trap is always below the condensate level, a water seal is formed, realizing natural separation of water and steam, and achieving no steam leakage during operation. The minimum working pressure of the valve is 0.01MPa. It is not affected by fluctuations in temperature and working pressure within the range from 0.01MPa to the maximum working pressure and can work continuously. Its minimum subcooling degree is about 0℃. Because the valve can automatically and continuously discharge condensate, there will be no water accumulation in the heating equipment, enabling the heating equipment to achieve the best heat exchange efficiency. It is one of the most ideal steam traps for production process heating equipment.
