Orifice Plate Flowmeter
Product Overview
Orifice plate flowmeter is a differential pressure generating device for flow measurement, also named differential pressure flowmeter. It consists of primary element (throttling component) and secondary equipment (differential pressure transmitter & flow indicator). Widely adopted for flow measurement of gas, steam and liquid, it owns advantages of simple structure, easy maintenance and stable performance.
Working principle: The bore diameter of throttling part is smaller than pipe inner diameter. When fluid flows through the throttling element, flow cross section shrinks abruptly and flow velocity rises. Static pressure drops behind the throttling part, forming a static pressure difference between upstream and downstream sides. There is a definite mathematical relationship between pressure difference and fluid flow rate. The differential pressure before and after the throttling piece is detected by differential pressure transmitter (or differential pressure gauge) to realize flow measurement.
Throttling assemblies of orifice flowmeter cover ring chamber orifice plate, nozzle and other types. Matched with differential pressure transmitters, they measure flow of liquid, steam and gas, and are extensively used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electric power, light industry and other industries.
Intelligent throttling device (orifice plate flowmeter) integrates flow, temperature and pressure detection, and supports automatic temperature & pressure compensation. Adopting microcomputer and low-power technology, it features powerful functions, compact structure, simple operation and convenient use.
