Oxygen globe valves are mainly used to connect or cut off media in pipelines, and are generally not applied for flow regulation, yet they cover a wide pressure range. Oxygen dedicated valves are specially designed for oxygen pipeline networks, and are widely used in oxygen-consuming engineering pipeline systems in iron & steel, metallurgy, petrochemical and chemical industries.

Besides the basic functions of ordinary valves, oxygen globe valves possess unique characteristics. Strict oil-prohibited measures are adopted during production, and all components undergo thorough degreasing treatment before assembly. Conductive threaded holes are arranged on all valve flange ends for static electricity prevention. Protective structures are fitted on exposed valve parts to avoid contamination by dust and oil.

Structural Features of Oxygen Dedicated Globe Valve

Main Parts of Oxygen Globe Valve

1. Oxygen globe valves are cast from high-quality silicon brass or stainless steel, featuring high mechanical strength, excellent wear resistance and superior safety. When installed on oxygen pipelines, they deliver outstanding explosion-proof and flame-retardant performance and eliminate potential hazards of oxygen piping systems.

2. Sealing surfaces are directly machined from base stainless steel or hardfaced with hard alloy. They resist abrasion and scratching and provide reliable tightness. No relative sliding occurs between disc and body sealing surfaces during opening and closing, which minimizes wear and scratch damage, ensures stable sealing performance and extends service life.

3. Valves with PN≤4.0MPa and DN<200 adopt single-disc structure; medium flows from below the disc to the upper side (low-in high-out). Valves with DN≥250 adopt double-disc structure; medium flows from above the disc downward (high-in low-out). This design meets structural requirements of internal bypass valves and greatly reduces closing force under medium pressure.

Meanwhile, valves with nominal pressure PN≥6.3MPa and DN250~500 are equipped with external bypass valves. The structure reduces pressure difference upstream and downstream of the valve, avoiding high flow velocity, severe erosion and excessive temperature rise. It guarantees safe operation of oxygen pipeline networks and lowers operating torque.

4. The bracket adopts fully enclosed structure. The protective cover on the bracket can be opened during packing compression to realize oil and dust prevention. Obvious oil-prohibited marking is provided.

5. Dust-proof device is installed on the upper part of valve stem. All wetted components contacting oxygen receive strict degreasing and oil-prohibited treatment before assembly. PTFE is selected as packing and gasket material to ensure safe and reliable sealing during operation.

6. Static conductive safety device is equipped on the valve to avoid spark caused by static electricity. Grounding screw is arranged on the valve flange to conduct static electricity away via wire, ensuring safe valve operation.
