Electric Knife Gate Valve
The electric knife gate valve is composed of multi‑turn electric device and knife gate valve. It is mainly made of cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel and other materials. Nominal diameter ranges from DN50 to DN1000. Widely used in chemical industry, coal, sugar‑making, sewage treatment, paper‑making and other fields, it is an ideal sealing valve. It is especially suitable for regulation and throttling on pipelines in paper‑making industry.
The electric knife gate valve is default equipped with Z‑type multi‑turn electric actuator, and actuators of other brands are optional. The motor is three‑phase AC 380V (660V or 220V for special order). Z‑type multi‑turn electric actuators include outdoor type, explosion‑proof type, integral type, integral regulating type, explosion‑proof integral type and explosion‑proof integral regulating type.

Working Principle
The core of electric knife gate valve lies in that the electric actuator drives the valve stem to move the gate plate up and down, so as to realize accurate control of medium flow and flow direction in the pipeline. When the electric actuator receives the opening signal, it drives the valve stem to lift the gate plate upward to increase the flow rate of medium passing through the valve. On the contrary, when receiving the closing signal, the gate plate moves downward to reduce or even cut off medium flow. The blade‑shaped gate plate enhances shearing capacity, effectively scrapes off adhesives on sealing surface and automatically removes sundries, ensuring reliable sealing and smooth operation of the valve.
Structural Features and Advantages
The valve features compact structure, mainly consisting of valve body, valve stem, gate plate, electric actuator and sealing parts. With reasonable design, it has advantages of light weight, material‑saving, reliable sealing, easy and flexible operation. The gate plate can be designed as rigid or elastic type according to different working conditions. Besides, it has small size, low flow resistance, light weight, convenient installation and disassembly, greatly improving maintenance efficiency and service life of equipment.

Application Fields
The electric knife gate valve has a wide range of applications. It can be found in traditional industrial fields such as mines and power plants, as well as in professional pipeline systems for urban sewage treatment, food, hygiene and pharmacy. Thanks to excellent sealing performance and fluid control capacity, it performs well when handling media such as pulp, sewage, coal slurry and ash‑slag water mixture. It is the preferred fluid control equipment especially for frequent switching or media containing impurities.
