Sanitary Butterfly Valves
Sanitary butterfly valves are commonly adopted in applications with strict hygiene requirements. They satisfy special demands for various media in food and biopharmaceutical industries. The smooth, crevice-free flow channel with self-draining design suits steam service and other Clean-in-Place (CIP) requirements.
All steel components of sanitary butterfly valves are manufactured from food-grade stainless steel with food-grade rubber sealing materials to meet high hygienic requirements. According to different end connections, types include male thread, clamp, butt-weld and three-piece welded connection.
Both internal and external surfaces are processed with high-grade polishing equipment. The smooth surface guarantees cleanliness without dead zones for medium accumulation, avoiding potential contamination. Widely applied in process control for food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, clean steam, wine, beverage and biochemical industries.

Working Principle
Sanitary butterfly valve features a circular valve body with a rotary disc supported by the stem. It can be remotely controlled by an actuator or manually operated by a handle. The manual handle mechanically locks the valve at fully open, partially open and fully closed positions. Rotating the handle drives the disc to turn parallel or perpendicular to flow direction to cut off or enable fluid flow.
The actuator converts axial piston movement into 90° rotation of the valve stem. The actuator torque rises when the disc contacts the valve seat seal.
Operation Configuration
1. Three standard actuator versions: Normally Closed (NC), Normally Open (NO), Double-Acting (A/A).
2. Electric actuator optional power supply: AC 24V, 110V, 220V, 380V; DC 24V, 50Hz/60Hz.
Available stroke time: 9s, 10s, 13s, 15s, 20s, 25s, 30s, 50s, 60s, 100s.
3. Manual handle enables 3-position locking: Fully open, partially open, fully closed.
