Ceramic Lined Ball Valves
Ceramic Lined Ball Valves: Structure, Features, Advantages & Technical Parameters
Ceramic Lined Ball Valves adopt a three-piece valve body structure. The valve body is made of carbon steel or stainless steel forgings with ceramic lining. All internal parts of the valve that come into contact with the medium, including the ball, valve seat, and connecting pipes, are made of structural ceramic materials. Structural ceramics have excellent chemical stability and high hardness, being resistant to corrosion by acid and alkali media and having wear-resistant performance, which solves the problem that ordinary metal and plastic valves cannot simultaneously achieve wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Structural Features
The ceramic internal components consist of 6 pieces: 1 ball, 2 valve seats, and 2 connecting pipes, with an overall simple structure, smooth flow channel, and low medium flow resistance. The sealing surfaces of the ball and valve seat are spherical hard seals. Due to the self-cleaning and self-lubricating properties of structural ceramics, the entire valve has excellent sealing performance, achieving zero leakage. Moreover, it can be tightly sealed without high pressure, thereby reducing the valve stem torque and ensuring smooth opening and closing.
Advantages of Ceramic Lined Ball Valves
All parts in contact with the medium are made of structural ceramic materials, which have excellent chemical stability and high hardness. Therefore, the valve has wear resistance, corrosion resistance, erosion resistance, as well as good heat insulation and low thermal expansion.
The ball is processed by professional grinding equipment and technology, with high sphericity. After lapping with the valve seat, good sealing performance can be achieved by utilizing the self-lubricating property of ZrO2 ceramics.
It overcomes the shortcomings of metal hard-sealed ball valves such as leakage, large torque, and non-corrosion-resistant sealing surfaces.
The excellent wear resistance of ceramics ensures a long service life of the valve.
Suitable for high-hardness particle media, or media containing soft particles and corrosive substances.
