Product Detail

Powder butterfly valve is specially developed for mixing plants, cement plants and other similar working conditions. It consists of two high‑pressure die‑cast aluminum alloy half‑valve bodies, a reversible disc and an elastic rubber sealing ring tightly fitted between valve body and disc. Thanks to optimized design, material residual rate is greatly reduced.

This valve can be installed underneath hoppers, bins, silos, screw conveyors or other powder handling equipment. It can also be mounted on pneumatic conveying pipelines for medium shut‑off. Featuring special structure and high‑performance engineering materials, it provides cost‑effective and efficient solutions for powder processing.

Actuated Powder Butterfly Valves

Design Features

1. Flange with O‑ring groove design.

2. Reduced overall height, light weight and high cost‑performance.

3. Few moving parts for low failure rate.

4. Replaceable and interchangeable disc.

5. Replaceable sealing ring between body and disc lowers maintenance cost.

6. High‑wear‑resistant disc, ideal for powder and granular media.

7. Explosion‑proof version optional for hazardous locations.

8. FDA‑compliant version optional for food and pharmaceutical industries.

9. Available from stock to reduce customer operating costs.

Installation and Maintenance of Powder Butterfly Valve

1. Apply a thin layer of liquid sealant between valve and connecting flange before fixing the valve.

2. Use stud bolts of sufficient length to connect upper flange, valve and lower flange in sandwich structure. Tighten nuts moderately, do not over‑tighten. Internal nuts are not for bearing weight; they only protect the valve if the feeder below slips off.

3. The aluminum‑alloy powder butterfly valve cannot bear the weight of downstream equipment such as screw feeders, belt conveyors or vibrating feeders.

4. Close the valve only during material conveying.

5. Regularly clean the powder butterfly valve with compressed air or water. This is especially critical if conveyed material tends to compact or solidify over time.

6. Normal operating temperature shall be below 80℃.

7. Material residue weight on disc shall not exceed maximum static torque. Exact weight is hard to calculate due to different material properties. For standard hoppers and silos, the valve works properly with material density below 1.3 t/m³.

8. For lump, granular or fibrous media, cast iron disc or 304 stainless steel disc is recommended.

9. A safety disc is suggested to be installed on silo‑mounted powder butterfly valve when handling large‑volume stacked materials.
