Electric High-performance Butterfly Valves
Electric high‑performance butterfly valve is suitable for high‑frequency opening‑closing working conditions. With excellent sealing performance, long service life and exquisite appearance, it successfully replaces traditional butterfly valves, ball valves and gate valves in many applications. Typical media include medium‑temperature water systems, compressed air, vacuum systems, corrosive materials and olefin materials. Adopting double‑eccentric structure, it uses multiple materials meeting NACE requirements and anti‑erosion specifications. The valve delivers reliable sealing, wide working condition adaptability, low operating torque, long service life and fire‑safe performance for special conditions. It is widely used for common media such as water, gas and oil, industrial media in food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as corrosive media in chemical industry.
Structural Features
Double eccentric structure: The two eccentricities of the valve stem and butterfly plate realize instant seal separation upon valve opening, reducing friction loss and improving service life. The double‑eccentric butterfly plate cooperates with arc‑shaped valve seat. The mechanical friction coefficient of sealing surface is only 0.07 with minor wear. Easy opening and closing effectively extends service life, achieving 200,000 trouble‑free cycles and 2,000,000 cycles without metal damage.
"Groove"‑shaped arc‑surface sealing ring: a: According to medium temperature and pressure, sealing ring can be filled with glass fiber or carbon fiber (PTFE, RTFE, FPT) for enhanced working performance. b: Effectively utilizes shape deformation of "groove" arc‑surface sealing ring. When butterfly plate closes, squeezed seat generates micro‑deformation to realize elastic sealing with uniform specific pressure and zero leakage. c: Under closed status, shape deformation of C‑shaped structure makes full use of forward and reverse medium pressure to achieve undifferentiated bi‑directional sealing.
V‑shaped overlapping axial packing: Realizes self‑energized sealing under axial compression from packing gland and effectively prevents external leakage. Suitable for high‑frequency opening‑closing applications.
Side pin connection between valve shaft and butterfly plate greatly improves valve stem shear resistance strength.
Special hub‑type opening positioning rings are installed on both ends of valve shaft, preventing vertical shaft displacement during disc switching, which may cause actuator collision and air leakage.
Four edges of butterfly plate are chrome‑plated, then processed by CNC machining, polishing and electropolishing. The sealing‑surface surface finish reaches mirror level 11.
Over‑torque limiting device is equipped inside valve cavity. It protects sealing ring from damage and internal leakage caused by over‑closing disc due to actuator over‑torque or unexpected incidents.

Working Principle
It adopts double‑eccentric butterfly plate with spherical sealing surface and single‑piece flexible lip‑type seat, ideal for applications requiring reliable sealing and regulating characteristics. Benefiting from double‑eccentric disc design, the valve provides tight sealing performance and extremely long service life for quick shut‑off or flow regulation. It handles liquid and gas (including steam) in various industrial pipelines, such as chlorine, oxygen, high vacuum, sulfur‑resistant and corrosive media. Fire‑safe structure is optional. Connection types include wafer type, and lug single‑flange type for large‑size pipelines and pipeline terminals. Thanks to 3‑eccentric principle, the spatial motion track of sealing surface is optimized with no friction or interference between mating sealing surfaces. Proper sealing‑material selection guarantees reliable sealing, corrosion resistance, high‑temperature resistance and wear resistance.
Design Standards
Design & Manufacture: API609, MSS SP‑67, MSS SP‑68
Inspection & Test: API598
Flange Connection: ASME B16.5(NPS≤24), ASME B16.47 Series B
Butt‑Weld End: ASME B16.25

Seat Sealing
ANSI/FCI 70‑2 defines leakage classes and test procedures for control valves, Class VI is the strictest leakage class. High‑performance wafer butterfly valve can achieve bubble‑tight sealing specified by MSS‑SP61.
Fire‑Safe Seat
Fire‑safe seat is designed for effective shut‑off under fire conditions. Metal seat insert is fitted with PTFE for sealing. When PTFE is burned out, metal seat ring maintains effective shut‑off. Fire‑safe seats apply to critical or severe working conditions. Valves with fire‑safe seats are tested and approved per API607 4th edition and BS6755 Part 2.
